• Development of neutron instrumentation: guide design for the backscattering spectrometer IN16B at the ILL, design of a 200neV backscattering spectrometer for  the LWTS at SNS.
• Benchmarking simulation of neutron instrumentation: HET at ISIS and NEAT at HZB.
• Instrument Advisory Team Member for  SNS.
• Development of laser instrumentation: construction of a dye laser.
• Experimental research in multidisciplinary areas: model biological systems, water dynamics, molecular magnetism, and ferroelectricity.
• Specialist in advanced scattering techniques: neutrons and synchrotron radiation.
• Trained in Raman, Infrared and X-rays scattering, Calorimetric and Magnetic measurements.
• Expert evaluator for neutron proposals: NIST, SNS, ANSTO
